I REALLY hate to say this, but I agree with the .gov on this. Not only can some fly by night tax preparing organization totally screw you when they mess up your tax return, but you may also be giving your financial details to someone who may end up using them for nefarious purposes. Some trades should have at least a minimal level of competency to protect customers from shoddy business practices. If we could only get the people in Congress to be forced to take a competency test before swearing in, we’d all be better off.
