1. Main problems and annoyances you encounter when using ActionApps
Automated content sharing between content management systems on separate servers
Our site - IFIwatchnet - is a networking and info shairing intiative amongst CSOs worldwide. A major reason we selected AA CMS software was because it allowed information to be shared between different systems. However we have since found that development on this has not yet started, and that if we would like to use this function, we would have to pay for it to be developed. This is proving frustrating for us and participants, some of whom have moved their whole sites to CMS in order to facilitate automated sharing only to find we can't yet do it.
2. Features suggested for future development versions of ActionApps
Automated content sharing! Something a bit like this is provided by the RePec project - although this initiative is not based on CMS and is horribly unusable. Something like that described in the AA blurb would be good...
3. Comments About Usablility
Apparently there is some documentation on automated content sharing but as a non-programmer I've not been able to understand it and our programmer has not been able to work it out either.
It would be useful to have a step by step guide of the kind of things people need to bear in mind when redesigning their websites if they would like to share content with AA driven sites in future. In the last 18 months 5 participating orgnisations have set up or redesigned their websites and we were unable to provide any suggestions as to how they could do it to optimise the potential for content sharing.
If the feature is *already* available - something I'm really not clear on. some clearer explanation of what it is and how it works in both techie and non-techie language would be good.
