Advanced search module
An AA advanced search module would allow for more
advanced searching of materials in AA sites including:
- Searching across many slices at once
- User determined filtering of results by field, date etc.
- Search result relevance rankings
- Search full text of binary attachments (e.g. PDF)
Some of the functions needed have recently been added
through version 2.4 or through GreenNet's EIN project.
Others would need to be added from scratch. It is
possible that these 'front scratch' components could be
added by pulling HTDig, Perlfect or anohter search
enging into AA as a module.
The forms wizard currently under development could be
used to create search pages.
Sponsorship: Depending on cost, these features could
be sponsored by the CEH and PKRN projects currently
managed by Commons Group
Developer: Marek has expressed an interest in working
on something like this.
Requirements: Commons Group could work on detailed
requirements for this if needed.
